A little glimpse of us

I've been tagged

My sweet sis tagged me in a sort of 'blog' game...You link to your tagger and list the rules on your blog.

So here are the rules: Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their name as well as links to their blog. Then let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. I may have to break the rules a bit since I definitely do not have 7 people to tag...

1. I am a night owl...and I hate mornings. I've been this way for as long as I can remember. I don't know if it's a bad thing, but it's a new challenge when you become a mom. As a mom, I've continued my night-owl habits (take the present moment for example: it's 12:07 am). But I can be sure that no amount of hating mornings will let me sleep them away...whether I like it or not, the "4 year old" alarm clock seems to work every time!

2. I haven't had 'homework' for 6 months now....and I have to remind myself that I won't have any in the next 6 months either. It's been an odd feeling to be "done" with grad school.

3. I actually read 3 books this past summer...for pleasure. I love to read and I don't remember when I read a book (or finished reading a book) for pleasure in the past 2 or 3 years! (pathetic, but true)

4. As much as I absolutely love and adore motherhood, there's a piece of me that misses being 'DINK's. The time and freedom we had with 'just the two of us' is a memory I will forever cherish.

5. I can't wait to have pumpkin pie...I hope it's at Thanksgiving and Christmas....I just may have to be the one to make it for both occasions, just to be sure...

6. This year was the first year our family went to a pumpkin patch or an apple orchard. And we managed to accomplish both in one evening--which was SO fun! I think it's going to be a new fall family tradition.

7. I feel I might have an incurable disease and disability as a 'wife that can't cook'. I hope to overcome this one day (is there some type of 12 step program to join??)...but for now 'exteremly simple' meals (spaghetti anyone?) and the restaurants on Main Street keep me (us) satisfied. (okay, a bit of an exaggeration there, but not far from truth)
